What's Spinning uses your device's microphone to perform local audio fingerprinting. Raw audio is processed on-device only and is never uploaded to our servers. We store the resulting music metadata (artist, album, track title, timestamp) associated with your account to power your listening history and analytics.

ACCOUNT INFORMATION

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. We do not collect your name unless you choose to provide it.

What's Spinning requires microphone access to identify music playing in your environment. Audio fingerprinting is performed entirely on-device. No raw audio recordings are transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere outside your device.
